SOP on Cleaning of Capsule Loading  Machine

 

 

Objective : To describe  cleaning procedure for capsule loading machine.

 

Scope : To ensure that the equipment is clean and free from any starting materials of previous batch or product residues.

 

Responsibility : 1.It  is the responsibility of operating staff to clean the equipment.

2. Production Chemist to ensure that procedure is followed.

 

Materials & Equipment :

1.      Cleaning agent: Isopropyl alcohol (70%v/v)

2.      Mops / brush / lint free cloth

 

Procedure

 

(1)   Clean the hopper, channels and plates etc. with the help of compressed air to remove any loose capsules.

(2)   Dismantle the hopper, channels and plates etc. and wipe with a dry, clean, lint free cloth.

(3)   Clean all the dismantled parts with a wet mop soaked in purified water and squeezed.

(4)   Again clean all the dismantled parts by mopping with a lint free cloth soaked in 70% v/v Isopropyl alcohol and squeezed.

(5)   Let all the parts dry in air or dry with the help of a clean, lint free cloth.

(6)   After getting clearance from Quality Control reassemble all the cleaned parts in the reverse order of dismantling and put a label “Cleaned” or “Ready for use”.
