SOP on Cleaning of Scoops, Scrappers & Spoons
Objective : To describe cleaning procedure for scoops, scrappers and spoons.
Scope : To ensure that the equipment is clean and free from any starting materials of previous batch or product residues.
Responsibility : 1.It is the responsibility of operating staff to clean the equipment.
2. Production Chemist to ensure that procedure is followed.
Materials & Equipment :
1. Cleaning agent: Teepol or liquid soap, Isopropyl alcohol (70%v/v).
2. Mops / brush / lint free cloth
Procedure
(1) As soon as the materials are dispensed from the stores, the dispensing equipment are transferred to tub earmark for used dispensing equipment.
(2) Take all the used dispensing equipment to washing area and clean with 5 liters of boiled tap water.
(3) Prepare a Teepol solution (10ml à 10 liters water) or liquid-soap (50gm à 5 liters water) and clean the surfaces by a nylon brush or mopping.
(4) Wash the surfaces of the dispensing equipment by running tap water for 5 minutes and drain the washings.
(5) Wash the surfaces of the dispensing equipment by using previously boiled purified water and drain the washings.
(6) Mop the dispensing equipment’s with 70% v/v Isopropyl alcohol; let them dry in air or dry with lint free cloth and keep the cleaned equipment in the cupboard earmarked for “Cleaned” equipment.
