ANTI-HYPERLIPIDEMIC AGENTS

Antihyperlipidemic agents promote reduction of high levels of fats, such as cholesterol in the blood.

The antihyperlipidemic agents are called lipid-lowering drugs and that aim to lower the levels of low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol, levels of triglyceride, and raise the high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol.

The lowering of LDL cholesterol can prevent both the primary and secondary symptoms of coronary heart disease.
